Olde Thompson 3823 00 Bavaria Salt Review

We have two of these salt mills and we both use them on a daily basis. One bought in 2013 failed internally and didn't figure out how to run a lifetime warranty. Olde Thompson's website doesn't even list this grinder on their product page, and there's no indication on the website of how the warranty is honored. Both are used with Himalayan salt.

Olde Thompson is the only brand worth buying if you are looking for a reliable salt/pepper grinder that will grind equally fine or coarse. My daughter bought a similar set from a different manufacturer. They were cheaper and useless. I bought her this set and I know she loves them. I have 3 wooden ones. Brown for black peppercorns, natural for white peppercorns, and light brown for peppercorn blends. You have never let me down.

Doesn't grind well which I prefer. I ended up donating it to charity and used the Costco salt that comes from the mill because it grinds it a lot finer. Regular-grain salt or finer salt, which can also be used with slight adjustment, will likely work for most people. But sometimes I just want to add fine salt that mixes well and easily, or put a very small amount of salt on a dish. I miss the much better looks of this one and wish it had a finer grind.

I love Olde Thompson Mills! I bought a set of Bavaria salt and pepper mills! There is a little difference from my previous salt mill!? I've bought a Bavaria salt mill before! Differences in the lid! My current Bavaria salt mill lid has a distinctive rounded shape on the inside, which indicates a certain care with this design! The new Bavaria salt mill lid is the same as the Bavaria pepper mill lid! I would give it 5 stars if only the salt mill lid was the same as it used to be!

Originally bought an identical version of this Martha Stewart from Macy's. It was much more expensive and was no longer sold there. So when I discovered that my previous grinder had rust in the grinder, I contacted Revain for a replacement. This grinder is exactly the same, with two improvements; First, it's cheaper. The lid that comes with the grinder can be used as a water trap when you turn the grinder upside down and grind loose salt/pepper. I bought this Himalayan Salt Meat Grinder which I received at the same time. This is a lovely grinder that already had salt (white) in it which was a nice surprise and would be great if I used it for white salt. In any case, it arrives ready to drive.
