🔧 Enhance Your Delta Band Saw: OLSON SAW CB50000BL Cool Blocks - 14-Inch Accessory Review

Since only Bosch band saws are sold in the big local stores, I order them online. I prefer the Highland Woodworking Woodslicer, but it costs about twice as much as an Olson blade. The Olson Blade does most of the work, but there's nothing to brag about.

These guide blocks have a major impact on the heat generation of my band saw (Delta 14"). I use a lot of e 1/8" saw blades and they usually break after more than one few hours of use due to the heat. I've been using the same blade for 2 weeks now and no problems. You can even grind down these blocks as they wear out. Would highly recommend to all band saw users.

Blocks are a fairly important part of a band saw setup. My Delta 14" is exactly what this part was designed to fit. Blocks are not 1/2" but closer to .4685". When the set screws are tightened the blocks come out square. I have this in the Didn't see reviews until I checked the 1 star rating Ad must be true.

I know that the 3/64 blocks seem a little different than the Delta blocks that come with the ½" blocks With limited guide access on my Delta 14 X band saw, the ends of the blocks cannot be attached parallel to the saw blade.I modified the old intermediate blade copper spacer to get a good glide and they work fine.The reason for that low score is the extra effort required for installation how much more effort does a manufacturer have to put in to make their standard size band saws.

I'll be honest right away. I've only had these cool blocks for almost a week so my rating may change with more use and experience. However, as they say, they were very easy to install. What immediately struck me about these cool blocks is that they are super, super light. Compared to my original steel rails, there is no comparison in terms of weight. I read about them for my 50 year old Delta after using only metal blocks for years. That's great. I saw on youtube where the guy just said put them in contact with the blade, use some wax on the blade, no overheating and found it to be true. This is a completely different saw now, no kidding. Round white plastic inserts are also available for the Peachtree table.
