My tortoise seems to "like" it. He will sunbathe under the lamp after dipping a little in the water and eating. Be careful though, when you turn off the light, don't try to move it as it's too hot. I made the mistake of moving it and accidentally broke the first bulb. The heat makes it brittle and you have to wait for it to cool down.

Really great product for what you get. I needed a lower wattage heat lamp for some of my small reptile enclosures. These are amazing little bulbs that give off lots of heat, UVA and UVB. UVBs aren't very high, but UVA is a really nice touch. I mainly use them for sunbathing snakes like garter snakes. Nice that they can absorb as much natural sunlight as possible for their species location!

Great for my painted turtle. These are exactly the UVB and UVA recommendations he needs. It is also a heating lamp and keeps it warm. Saves me from using 2 different lamps for heat and UV. Prior to this onion, it showed early signs of peel rot. After this onion, I noticed an almost immediate color change, and the rot spots on the peel disappeared after 2-3 weeks. Mr. Turtle, happy turtle. :)

I don't know how these bulbs work; I don't really know what they are. I know I thought I ordered full spectrum lighting for my turtle and I received 6 bulbs in a nondescript standard package. So I'm not sure if this is the real deal or not. I think I rely on the packaging to make sure I get what was intended, but they look like any other mini bulb you could use in track lighting. How do I know it's really full spectrum? I don't want to use them for four or six months only to find out my turtle…
