Tightening the crankshaft bolt is very easy.

Doesn't matter (I tightened it with two screws and a long rod. I wasn't sure if it was tightened on spice so I ordered this one. I tightened it right but it won me over .

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Long delivery

Works as it should in Pulley Tools

Application -2000 Suburu 2.5 Outback + good workmanship for the price + has 1/2 drive under the grip cover + knew how to unscrew the balance screw - cracked rubber grip almost all the way down . Only large screws used

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Some minor issues

Overpriced and low quality.

really cheaply made. The tapped hole finish was inferior to the Harbor Freight tools. I finally got the tool together and it does the job but wasn't worth the money charged for it. I recommend looking at other tools before buying this one.

Pros
  • also understandable for the old
Cons
  • clarity

Makes work easier

Tried to loosen the harmonic damper roller without this tool by following various tips on the internet. Nothing worked and fear of costly damage made me invest in this tool. Worked both loosening and re-tightening the first time after the job was done. I recommend that you do not attempt to remove this pulley without this tool.

Pros
  • Good for many
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Bolt pattern doesn't match car's pulley

Don't buy this brand to remove Subaru's crankshaft pulley. It just won't work. The bolts are weak, two are bent. Also, the bolt pattern doesn't match the car's pulley. I had to drill a new hole and use Homedepot bolts. Timing and pulley replacement on Subaru is expensive and time consuming. I recommend you go to a more reputable tool manufacturer. That's not it.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Nothing

Did we get the physics right?

Great product, works like magic. But hey, did we get the physics right? Is it instead possible to get maximum tensile strength by threading small screws (first) through the base wedge and then (second) through the outer ring? I'm asking this knowing that the threads on the base wrench are slightly larger than the bolts themselves, which allows for unwanted movement, not to mention the hassle of holding the ring in place when it's attached to the pulley itself.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Nothing here
