Small fan. works well. It's a bit noisy in here if that bothers you, but I don't really mind a little noise. Good but not perfect. Very quiet and durable, but its blades are a little off balance - it's not noticeable unless the fan is in its lowest position and then the base vibrates slightly. For the price of this fan I expected better quality. It was like a little hovercraft and didn't really move much air. After falling 3 feet onto a soft carpet, it sounded like a malfunctioning air raid siren. It made so much noise that I got rid of it.

This is not the Optimus fan I bought a few years ago. Its small electric motor was all metal, while the current copy is not. A metal motor keeps the fan on the surface. This fake plastic motor bounces all over the place and is very noisy due to vibration. Too easy. Heavily disappointed.

My daughter needed a fan for her beauty school counter. Just something to move the air and keep the smells from all those chemicals at bay. This little guy was perfect. It didn't take up much space on her counter, the cord was long enough and put out enough energy to get the job done without tripping her. The only thing that would be better would be if it swiveled, but I knew it wasn't when I bought it. Hard to find in this size. Good purchase, very satisfied.

The last fan I just bought is very well made. The 2 fans I bought in late 2015 are not that great. The latest fan is very durable, has a heavy motor and is VERY quiet! Old fans were much lighter, noisier, and vibrated a lot. The only downside to the new fan is that it doesn't move as much air as the old fans. Overall, I would recommend the newer fan mainly because of the build quality and the low noise level. I like it so much that I'm going to buy another one.

Okay, I ordered three different 4 inch fans hoping at least one would fit my needs: small, quiet, efficient , cheap. I tried the Vornado from the manufacturer's website (looks great but roars in the highs but is very quiet in the lows). The Boston high speed fan is too loud to use at the table.
