not so durable in Portable Audio & Video

Dropped once. The bracket is so loose that it popped out and broke the antenna. It still works but I'm a bit disappointed with the quality.

Best Buy for Shortwave Radios

A savior for those who live in tornado prone areas. Portable for on the go is a plus. Bought more than 10 years ago, original replaced free of charge if defective.

mine didn't arrive in the best condition; it was beaten and .

Nice little thing. At least portable and easy to use. I'm not happy with weak reception; It works well outdoors, but it's difficult to pick up a signal indoors. Mine wasn't delivered in the best condition either; it was a bit shabby and the backlight didn't work. However, this will do in a pinch.

Not as good as you might think

I'm part of SKYWARN for NWS so I thought this radio would be perfect for me. I had to wait 2 months to get one (via Revain). I've been trying to get the SAME working for a month but to no avail. It turns out that after you decode the programming instructions and set up the codes, SAME might not work if you're too far from the NOAA station. Although I can pick up 4 out of 6 NOAA stations, none of them are strong enough to call SAME. Based on other's reviews I would choose a different radio if…

Great but not easy to use

This radio is the most sensitive weather radio I have ever used. It picks up weak signals with ease and has excellent sound quality. However, the controls are unnecessarily complex and unintuitive. For example, to change a channel, you don't just press the channel button - you press and hold the channel button for two seconds, wait for the light to start flashing, and then press the up and down buttons to select the channel you want. .In general, it is highly recommended, but it is necessary to

Good product. User interface could be improved

I have had this product for at least six years now. I like functionality. Thunderstorms are common in our area, so audible warnings can be a problem. But the fact that I can only set it to a visual alarm is great. We have a country house so I'll add the district number for that location when we get there. Most of these warnings are related to snow and one time it really saved me because we weren't receiving local stations and a big blizzard was coming from bright blue skies. I initially gave it

Compact Peace of Mind

I live in Florida where the weather changes quickly and we've had our tough episodes. I chose this compact model when buying a weather radio because it is portable and can be used anywhere. Yes, it's a bit fiddly to set up, but that's not because of the radio. It's about getting codes and knowing which codes to use. Entering is pretty easy. So far our radio reception has been excellent. The weekly tests are coming up and I really like the feature on the front of the radio that will flash…

Tornado Alley is good for HF radios

We live in a severe weather area - it's not Oklahoma, but I was woken up early one morning by the distinctive sound of a tornado or strong tailwind blowing by my home, like the sound of a train. And we have big thunderstorms. I bought this radio because our local stations are weak and don't transmit reliable local weather. The radio comes in a pouch that attaches to a belt and has a wrist strap. It has a sporty yellow color and is clearly intended for sailors. Three batteries (not alkaline, but
