Really good tool - Brake Tools

Based on some other reviews I was expecting a cheap tool for home use that doesn't last forever but lets me use it from time to time. I was surprised that this is actually a very high quality device. It doesn't snap, but it's certainly a lot better than the port charge I used. I've done 3 brake jobs with it and I expect it will easily last a lifetime for my use. I am very impressed and happy with my purchase.

Solid Performer is the pinnacle of tools and gear

Just use this on the rear brakes on my 2008 Ford Taurus X and it worked like a champ. Better than the loaner tools I got from my local auto parts store. I really liked the magnetic attachment of the plate. It is also convenient to have both directions of thread. If you move slowly and easily and keep the yoke firmly in the caliper, getting it in quickly won't be a problem. It's good to have a wrench to remove the yoke after compression and hold it while sliding it in. Has enough plates. Options

Makes working with disc brakes easier

This kit was used to replace the brakes on a 2014 Kia Forte EX. The 2-pin plates fit the rear caliper pistons and easily thread into the caliper body without damaging the piston boot. A large disc plate was used to push the front caliper pistons. The reactive body tool has a magnetic head that helps hold the discs in place. The magnets aren't strong, but are good enough to act as a third hand when using the tool. The plates appear to be stamped from sheet steel; One of them has a jagged edge…

Pretty Good Kit - Brake Tools

I've been using the c-clamp method for years but it doesn't work on my 2016 Mazda 6 rear brakes. The set worked great on my wife from 2007. Scion and Mazda front brakes that use traditional caliper pistons. 2016 Mazda 6 rear brakes with electronic brakes installed need to be "rewired". That's why I bought this kit. The piston head has three triangular notches that only match the plate at position 10. Unfortunately, the spacing turned out to be wrong as I couldn't manually insert the struts into

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Secret

This product is well made and has many options to work with different brakes. I needed this for my 2012 MINI Countryman with stock 1 piston brakes. The supplied manual is very primitive and not entirely clear in some aspects. There is no clear indication of which part to use (there are a few plates) to apply back pressure to the other end of the caliper. The terms used are unclear and appear to contradict what is stamped on the toolbox plastic next to each of the panels. The list of cars seems…

Screwing gauges in for the first time

A snow storm was approaching Buffalo and my 4x4 rear brakes were squealing. I've never worked on a car with those newfangled compression bolts, but I know I only had 4 days to get the job done. I learned what it takes to compress calibers and of course went to Revain to get the tools I needed. This kit was rated 5***** by all reviewers. So why not read on? When I saw that YOU could get it in 2 days (that would be a Sunday delivery) I jumped at it. And sure enough, on Sunday morning I went to…

Just what I needed - Brake Adjusting Tools

So I wanted to change the brake pads on my 17 year old Ford Escape. As usual, when I tried to push the plunger in with the C-clamp, the plunger wouldn't move. So I thought the caliper was F-ed. I took the car to the dealer to have it fixed as I didn't feel like changing the caliper. So I took her to the dealer and explained the problem to her. The mechanic was with me in advance of everything. He informed me that the "old" method with the C-clamp didn't work. You said that on newer cars the…
