Very good outdoor backpack

I love this backpack. It is very functional and well designed. My only concern is that the outer mesh pocket will tear easily if you ever hang it from a limb. I have experienced it myself. Send it to Osprey and they fixed it, which is a huge benefit of an Osprey product. I think the mesh should be made of some other material that doesn't tear easily. It's never fun to send a product back for repair, even if they fix it for free.

I searched obsessively for months and this was the package I chose.

I've been looking for backpacks for 4 months (I'm a bit obsessed) and this was the best backpack I've found in terms of functionality for hikers and motorcyclists. The mobile phone pocket on the strap is indispensable when hiking and horseback riding. The back pockets are great. The rain cover is perfect (even on the bike at high speeds). It's not the coolest backpack, but it's not the ugliest either. Too bad they didn't just make it black, no stripes.

Pros
  • Beautifully packaged

  • Ok overall but...

Overall excellent backpack

Overall excellent backpack despite a few minor flaws. The lower and upper compartments can be combined by opening the "door" inside. Note that when the top and bottom compartments are separated (internal zippered "door" closed), a 14" laptop fits fairly comfortably in the top compartment. It works but slides all the way up and obstructs the small pocket at the top. In addition, the mobile phone case on the front is unusable for any modern smartphone.

Osprey's best backpack

I love this backpack! It feels much larger than 25L. The partition in the middle helps to keep things tidy. It also works great as a camera backpack as you can keep your camera on top and stash your jacket on the bottom. The phone case could have been a bit bigger as it barely fits in my Galaxy phone. The waist straps are excellent and the pockets are very useful. I could fit a small tripod in the side pocket and a water bottle on the other side. This is my favorite of all Osprey backpacks.

Pros
  • Easy installation

  • Some small things

Ideal for bike tours.

I love every little thing about this backpack (adjustable straps on all sides, helmet buckle, bottom pocket, rain cover, flashing light strap, etc.) It's been a fantastic purchase so far. I use it as a commuter bike and it's the perfect size. NOTE: S/M volume is slightly smaller (2L) than M/L. I received an S/M which is almost perfect for my needs. One gripe is that I wish they had reinforced the lower back with thicker material as I like to stand my bags vertically when putting them down. Iโ€ฆ

I love this bag (except for a few things that need improvement)

I love love love this bag. What sells it for me is the adjustable shoulder strap. If you are my height (6'1") you can adjust the attachment point between the top of the shoulder straps and the bag (large velcro). I have allowed this attachment point to stick out 3" and now the lap belt extends to at waist level Fabulous Cons (and minus one star): The small pockets on the waist belt and left shoulder strap are ridiculously useless A pocket with a left shoulder strap fitted my flip phone back inโ€ฆ

Overall great backpack, holds more than I expected

Overall great backpack, holds more than I expected. Bought it for day trips but broke it at Universal Studios. Was able to carry hoodies and foldable jackets for (2) adults and (2) kids along with a bunch of snacks for the day. We used the built in rain cover on a boat trip and it worked great. Even when fully loaded, it was very comfortable on the hips and felt weightless. The ventilated back also helped prevent the inevitable "back sweat" you can get in warmer weather. Hard landing for little ladies; otherwise great

I really wanted to love this bag. I'm an Osprey fan and this bag certainly doesn't disappoint in the details - it's well made and has lots of fun details. However, this is a unisex bag and shows that, to me, there is a good reason why the women's sizes from Osprey work so well. The Escapist 25's S/M size didn't fit my 5'4" well no matter how I adjusted it. The waist straps were snug enough, but they had weird fabric loops, and the shoulder straps wouldn't tighten. This daypack has a wide range of uses and is primarily designed for all outdoor activities. From hiking to climbing, traveling and even as a school bag. If you are an outdoor enthusiast or just need a quality backpack, this backpack could be for you! Capacity One thing I can say about this backpack, I'm amazed at how much it fits. I'm a college student who enjoys rock climbing on the side and I've been using this bag for about a year now. I stuffed in a two hundred yard rope, plus two straps, a
