I use it for long gravel rides, it has a fairly large chamber which may be too big for some but works great for me. I'm not tall and it doesn't seem massive on my back. I don't know how this backpack does it, but the weight is distributed so I don't have as much weight on my shoulders. I'm a fairly short woman, 5ft 2in tall. There are plenty of pockets and space for snacks. I took this twice on a hike and there was plenty of water. The two reasons this was a win are 1) I'm a dropsy and 2) I live in desert Arizona where you can easily need more water than you think.

I love this water bag! I do 30 mile bike rides through the countryside, on dirt roads - water is enough for me and I've found the magnet holding the waterline works very well. So good that on one of my last rides - I got hit by a deer (it appeared out of nowhere and hit me from the side) - I didn't even stay on the bike! Damaged my bike and I but two things remained: my iPhone attached to my bike and the lines! Never came unmagnetized! I was very impressed!

I would give 3.5 stars if possible. Osprey has been around for a while and has a solid reputation. This hydration pack is very well built but IMHO completely redesigned/redesigned. I suspect there might be some patent infringement issues with the bladder design given the complexity of the fill system. In order to gain access to the bladder, you have to undo a lot of clamps. Also (again possible patent issue) the delivery tube cannot be detached from the bladder, making it cumbersome and…

Without the weight of the water the fit feels a bit poor but with the weight it hangs perfectly and I never felt like I was wearing a backpack while riding. It's so comfortable and breathable.
