For brushing mane and tail. Easy to clean. The bristles are plastic and fairly flexible, so you can comb and detangle them without pulling out a lot of hair, and it doesn't cause much pain when you hit a handle. The ends of the bristles are covered with small balls to provide comfort to the horse's skin. It proved durable as the bristles did not come out and the ends of the bristles with balls remained intact.

I read the reviews and one said it works on the Great Pyrenees (I have 2 of them). There are also 2 Clydesdales. I rarely write reviews but this brush is great for both. My horses even like to have "feathers" on their legs with old brushes they didn't like on their legs. My husband loves it and now brushes our dogs with it regularly.

I have two of these brushes, one for horses and one for cats. It works fine for both. Basically, I bought it because of its ergonomics, because I have grip problems. The handle is nicely shaped and thick enough to hold comfortably. Horse hair comes off the brush easily if I just tap the brush against a stable wall or post and the hair falls out.
