2006 Toyota Tacoma 4WD - Works great with tie rod end

2006 Toyota Tacoma 4WD - Works great with tie rod end. Pre-wet with grease, wait a few minutes, tighten a little, then tap with a hammer, tighten a little more, then tap again and it should come loose. Much better than a sole fork as it won't tear through the rubber boot at the end of the tie rod.

Gaining control of tools and equipment

My Honda dealer recently offered me $1100 to replace the front struts. After recovering from the shock, I decided to replace it myself. I found that when trying to separate the tie rod ends from the old shock absorbers I damaged the rubber boot on both ends. After studying several tools, I decided on this device. I ordered two new MOOG tie rod ends and this puller. I found the design of this puller to be simple, reliable and functional. It took me seconds to separate the ends.

Cool little tool! - Tools and Equipment

If you've ever tried knocking off stubborn tie rod ends with a sole fork, you really should spend a few bucks and get one of these. I just can't believe I've lived without her for so long. They turn a frustrating suspension job into a 30 second job. Carefully place the plain pin, place the pointed pin in the recess in the center of the tie rod end, turn the bolt about 3-4 turns and voilΓ ! They burst instantly! No more worn tie rod ends and steering knuckles!
