Bought the same case 3 years ago. Comparison: 3 years ago - the rubber outer coating is much thicker. The front and back plastic case that my iPhone 8plus comes in is heavier and thicker. Over the years I've learned to trust Otterbox Defender cases. I bought one with my first iPhone 5 and it has protected the phone to the point where after 2 years it looked brand new. I use my phone for work so I need a really strong case. It works well. A couple of issues I had was the charging cover on the bottom was pushing too hard on my charging cable so I cut it off and was much happier. I had to charge my phone when driving to different places, so it was too difficult to constantly fight it. Moisture is less of an issue than phone damage. Also, I glued the ring to the back so I can use it and be less afraid of dropping it since I'm always working in multitasking mode.

I bought this case for my daughter's phone. She loves this color and feels that it adequately protects her phone from all falls and bumps. This is a good case but for the price I expected more protection. This allows some liquid to enter the screen area. I spilled it a bit (not a lot of liquid, just a small amount dripping from my wet hands) and then had the non-working touchscreen issue. After checking it I found that moisture had gotten in there, prompting me to take it apart and wipe it dry. Shouldn't that be part of the protection this product offers?
