One of the best you can buy!

Does exactly what it promises. Sensitive enough not to be triggered by sound or light touch. As much as I like the thickness of the U pin, it fits a 10mm chain link, FYI. In addition, a simple concept and efficient.

Pros
  • Good marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Not the best choice for motorcycles and strength athletes

This thing will annoy you more than anything else. This gives you about 3 seconds to latch it and put it back in place, otherwise it will shut down. Sometimes it seems to shut down for no reason. It's loud enough to be heard indoors from my back porch, but I'm afraid if I don't hear I won't be able to hear it under normal conditions.

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • Requires outlet

Poor key design for electronics

The key in this lock is the weak point. Today I struggled for 20 minutes (with the alarm chirping the whole time) before I could get the thing off my bike. The key must be FULLY inserted and due to the poor design this may take many attempts. Block the instructions on the Oxford website because the website itself does not solve this problem.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Updates available

Great product but missing cable

Secure lock, not too bulky to be difficult to carry around while riding and not too small so anyone looking to steal your bike would notice. The alarm clock is quite loud but sensitive enough to turn it off easily. Does NOT come with a contactor cable as stated in the description. I opened the box but unfortunately it was nowhere to be found. With cable it would be 5 stars.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • I'm concerned about this

1 year and 1 month owned

I give it 1 star. This lock was great and I owned it for about a year and a half. I use it often. This lock is used at least twice a day, 3 days a week. Everything has been fine since I bought it but this morning I was able to unhook my bike but when I got home to hook it back up the key slot was blocked for some reason. Pick with the pinched tip and manually move the piece of metal up or down depending on how you're looking at it. It's like there's a metal door.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Great price

heavy, can be switched off by closing the speaker

UPDATE 1: Upgrade from 5 to 3 stars. Works, sometimes 5-10 minutes after lockdown. Mostly when the lock is upright. The alarm clock is not loud at all, just under 100dB. The "on" beep is much louder than the alarm itself. OLD REVIEW: Heavy, flashy, slightly rustic button. I still like it. As already mentioned, the speaker hole can be covered with your hand or a rubber band - then very little sound will come out. I really like and use this bug myself, I like being able to turn it off before my…

Brand new lock - hash bars

We bought a lock for a motorcycle and after using the lock 3 times in a covered garage it would not open. After calling tech support we were advised to buy oil and WD-40 as the new lock got dirty, used 3 times and was never used outside the garage. Another issue is that the key is very flimsy and looks like you're bending it when you lock/unlock it. The key must be made of a thicker material. After several attempts, as recommended by support, the lock would not open, knocked, smeared with oil…

Pros
  • Trial for one year
Cons
  • No paint required
