Junk - Pin came out after just a couple of weeks of use

I use the snap shackle to secure the boom when not sailing so it was never under a real load. We took down the main to motor in. With no load, I opened the shackle and watched the pin shoot into the ocean.

Pros
  • SIZE:There are three size : 3 sizes :2-3/4"Capacity (WLL): 800 LBS,WT :0.15LBS; 3-1/2""Capacity (WLL): 1200 LBS,WT :0.27LBS,5""Capacity (WLL): 1800 LBS,WT :0.95LBS
Cons
  • The size of the shackles may not be suitable for all sailboats, limiting their versatility

A great product.: my feedback

We used these for safety in an air craft cable setup that was established outdoors. I was very pleased with the ease and functionality.

Pros
  • Shackle Type:Jaw Swivel Snap Shackle
Cons
  • The price point for the 316 stainless steel material may be too high for some sailors on a budget

Defective product. best in my review

I received my pair and I was pleased with the construction until I noticed that one of them was an incomplete cast and will be unusable for my purposes.

Pros
  • Pulling & Lifting
Cons
  • The swivel feature may add unnecessary complexity and potential failure points to the rigging system

Heavy-duty in my review

Did not expect these to be this good of quality but a great surprise. Only wish I went with a smaller one for my project but these will work just fine.

Pros
  • Safe working load depends on application, and even orientation of the shackle under load.
Cons
  • The use of snap shackles can be controversial in the sailing community due to their potential for accidental disengagement and safety concerns
