Great camera and great price

After looking at various cameras in this class I settled on this Panasonic. My reasons: 1. I liked my old Panasonic. 2. LEICA camera lenses in this price range are fantastic. 3. ON/OFF switch, no button to accidentally press or turn off at the wrong time (like Canon!) 4. Pictures are phenomenal without having to carry around a camera bag full of interchangeable lenses. 5. The settings are on the watch face, no need to search through the digital menus to switch between commonly used settings. 6.

  • Decent performance

Ideal camera for growth

Before I start, I want to clarify that I am not an expert or even a seasoned photographer. In fact, my only previous camera was a small point and shoot camera that didn't really fit my needs. Because of this, I decided to take it a step further and tackle the bridge camera. I did a lot of research and found this camera to be the best rated in its class and price range. The two things that really drove me nuts about my old camera was that it only had a 3x zoom, which it didn't really have…

I love this camera! Very important.

Bought for my teenage daughter. This is a pre-FZ60 model that added HDR, CMOS sensor, faster continuous shooting and other software features. I decided to buy it when the price dropped. We were looking for a super zoom camera that is lightweight and takes great pictures. This camera ticks all the boxes. This camera (and the FZ60) is a great alternative to Canon and Nikon superzoom/bridge cameras in my opinion. What still amazes me is the quality of the photos, the 25-600mm lens and the…

Excellent value for money

I have had this camera for a little over a month and am very happy with this product. Overall, thanks to the amazing Leica lens, the images come out sharp, crisp and with natural colors. This camera has many options that allow it to be a simple point-and-shoot system under IA control, but also gives beginners some room for creativity with its manual options. The large zoom range offers a lot of flexibility and is great if you plan to use it while traveling. It's a little bulky at around 1.1…

Very happy so far

I had another cheaper branded model (Kodak ZD710 which now outsells this Panasonic) that had issues with battery life. I was looking for a mid-range camera with these must-have features: continuous shooting mode, viewfinder, panorama assistant, super zoom. I've carefully checked reviews on Revain and several other sites, including Consumers Reports. This camera has all the features I wanted and more. I saw a lot of models that I liked, but they all had a lot of negative reviews. This camera…

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

My first Panasonic was a DMC-FZ35K after owning two Canon PowerShot S-series cameras. not so great. I hadn't thought about buying the FZ47 either, but since it had such a big discount ($190), I decided to take the plunge. I was initially impressed with the body's continued compactness (it's still smaller and lighter than even the 2 SX20IS and larger SX40IS) and largely unchanged button layout, but I really miss the "4-way joystick" that has been replaced by a clickable scroll wheel. My first…
