Great performance

I have a DSLR that I like very, very much, but sometimes I like to travel with a minimum of gear. And of course, it's absolutely true that the best camera is the one you actually have with you when you see that unique shot. I wasn't a Panasonic user before and was actually quite suspicious of the brand based on professional reviews that complained about other Panasonic models suffering from watercolor effects and noise reduction artifacts. Takes pictures that are in no way inferior to SLR quality!

UPDATE - November 29, 2010: Small update to say I still love this camera as much as the first day I used it. Since writing this review I've tried a few other cameras - the Nikon L18 and L20 and even the new Panasonic Lumix ZS1 - and none of them could match it, except for the ZS1. ************** ***************************** I have received this camera on multiple days and I'm totally thrilled. I've tried Kodak, Pentax, Canon and even Nikon Coolpix and this Panasonic TZ4 wins by far. It has 8.1

Great, versatile camera.

I bought this camera after a very short research to replace my Canon SD400 which was used for 3 years (and I always have the camera with me, therefore a lot of use). I wanted something relatively small but more powerful than my Canon, which took great still subject shots in good light and decent video, but was slow and limited to 3x zoom and a dead flash.
