Enhance Your Workspace with the PanaVise 305 Low Profile Base - Productive and Space-Saving Solution Review

As I expected from PanaVise, you get every penny of your money. Design, construction, materials - head and shoulders above the rest. The low profile base is heavy enough to be used without being attached to a surface when the object to be clamped is small/light. Otherwise, bolting it to a scraping board gives you the equivalent of a third "human hand" holding your work securely.

Honestly, I expected better quality. The device must have a metal handle like the PanaVise desk clamp. Gives a much better grip when tightening and loosening things. You can also use heavier gauge/higher quality metal for the inner pivot rod clamps to hold your choice of PanaVise jaws. Personally, I opted for a very wide opening. The quality of it is also questionable, but I will write about it separately. .It hasn't broken yet, but I feel like I can't tighten it enough.

I bought this and a flat head to use on my jewelry workbench. While most vises are adjustable, it's difficult to work regularly with small parts because they're sticking out too high, out, or both. It's a high-quality, refined, well-built piece of equipment that's easy to adjust, locks securely in place, and is capable of keeping your work at a reasonable level. I love all PanaVise products and would recommend them to jewelers and anyone with small parts.

Soldered circuit boards has always been and had some clumsy circuit board holders. I ended up breaking down and spending money on a PanaVise system with a 315 head and I really liked it. I suggest getting a 305 mini vise as well because the 315 jaws are larger and will fit 75% of boards, but not so much for smaller boards with edge components. I have had several Panavises over the years and the products they make today are honestly as high quality as ever which is great to see in this day and age of making and losing a business. They've managed to keep the price pretty stable over the past 25 years, which is pretty amazing. The finish and fairing itself are a bit smaller than before, but it's fairly minor.
