Good kit if you are developing your own film

You can't always rely on developing tanks and spools etc that you don't service yourself. There's always a chance that someone who used them before you didn't clean them properly and your film will get dirty and not develop properly. I've had a metal tank and casters for a while, but I've found that these adjustable plastic casters, while a bit brittle if mishandled, are much easier to load. I chose this kit so I always have my own gear on hand in case I need to develop film. I rent time in a…

Cons

Good tank. Terrible coils.

This container does the job. Lightfast, easy to use and at the best price. The only thing stopping it from being 5 stars is the drums. Applying foil takes more than just a little practice. It's a little lighter than the old metal spools, but not by much. If your film is thinner and more brittle this is next to impossible and you will need to trim the corners in the dark to prevent the film from getting stuck in the spool and wrinkling. much better job. I didn't switch to them and can't believe…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel

I had some problems, but they were solved

Like::The design of the tank allows for a quick exchange of chemicals.:It is filled from the bottom up. Large built in funnel and fill tube.: Should be easy to check the actual temperature of the chemicals once in the tank.: I like trying out the ratcheting motion to load the film. I overcame these issues before using the slide: a ratchet would not fully seat and not move. I poked him with a thin screwdriver and now he's moving freely in the cage. I'm not worried The best way to seal is to…

Definitely the best system!

Paterson tanks are without doubt the MOST tanks in service and have been in service for a long time. It's made of high-strength plastic and coated in a way that won't trap the chemicals used (may ruin your finish!). PROS - The light protection system is considered to be the best on the market - The ball bearing film loading system is very easy (I practiced twice in front of a real roll and did it in one!) - Comes with a stir bar for multiple stir modes during processing - Adjustable spool for…
