Good RAM for light gaming

I had an old laptop with 8 gigabytes pre-installed and when I played memory intensive games like Watchdogs 2 it used up all 8 gigabytes and worked terribly. This new RAM I bought increased my laptop's RAM to 16 gigabytes and now Watchdogs 2 uses 50% of all RAM and runs almost 3 times better than without it as the garbage collector no longer exhausts me. Regarding the RAM clock speed, my motherboard's max frequency is 2133 MT/s, so unfortunately I can't verify if it's possible to overclock the…

Pros
  • DIMM type: 260-pin non-ECC SODIMM; Voltage: 1.2V
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised

DOES NOT WORK at 3000MHz. It really is XMP2933

The absolute best this memory can do is 2933MHz. These are both XMP profiles. I've been trying to run at 3000MHz for quite some time. 2933 is the best I can get on my Clevo P750TM1-G.

Pros
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other models

Very good memory for the price

Bought for my Dell gaming laptop. The BIOS is actually limited to 2400MHz without the ability to change this. So that's the speed I was expecting. I installed them and they run at 2667MHz which was a pleasant surprise. The timings are good and they definitely added to my gaming experience when I switched from single channel 8GB to dual channel 16GB. I would recommend them, especially for the price.

Pros
  • Compatibility: Tested on the latest premium Intel and AMD platforms for reliable and fast performance
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Works most of the time

I bought this stick because it was rated at 2666MHz (base) at a very reasonable price. To the right of the bat, you should note that the 3000MHz in the product name is for XMPP (aka overclocking) only. This limits 2933MHz support to just a few gaming laptops that support XMPP. Basically it works fine, I connected it to another OEM 2666MHz 19CL module in my HP computer. As expected, it runs at 2666 MHz. I have a critical problem: every time I restart the computer, it only recognizes 1 memory…

  • Hard to tell
