I had to remove 2 of my good 1GB of memory plus a broken one

Very fast service. Received the package a day early. As far as memory chips are concerned, they are NOT ECC. This was not mentioned in promotional materials but was clearly stated on the chip holder packaging. Since the memory in my computer was ECC I had to remove 2 of my good 1GB memory and also the bad one. I decided to order another set of two 2GB Dimms to push my computer to the extreme. Caution! I'm a former IBM field service engineer and have a static electrical grounding kit that I used

Pros
  • Easy setup

Unwanted Equipment - Stay Away!

After troubleshooting and testing and testing, our customer's computer spent almost 11 hours over several days and of course I can't charge the customer for that. The computer just turned off. No warnings, no warnings, the computer only emits 1 long beep. Based on what I've found, this could mean anything from the motherboard to the memory. This computer was the customer's computer that controlled the rented vault's gate and therefore kept the gate open as the computer went dead overnight…

Отличная память была спасителем, мой биос установки Z170 замуровался при обновлении Spectre и даже не тестировался на моем 775 платы сокетов still. I had to recover my login details for an RMA and all this fun stuff assembled an old 780i system and the board had 2x1GB from some other brands with different timings, plugged in, uploaded and shipped straight away. My RMA was very late so staying online helped me. I've just ordered (2) more packs of 2 x 2GB DDr2 to make the most of the old build…

Perfect fit for computer and accessories

First of all, this is a plus-minus comment. I bought a refurbished computer from Revain and it broke down shortly after. When I turned it on the red light started flashing and I knew something was wrong. The red light blinked 5 times indicating a memory problem. So I checked the memory and found that there are three different types of memory installed. All memories must match. The handyman had to be a novice or an owner who wanted to sell a home computer. Anyway, he got it wrong. So I checked…

Cheap and Good: Internal Components

There was an old computer I recently assembled for my grandson from spare parts. It was an old Asus P2B Deluxe motherboard with an Intel CoreDuo processor. Ah, the good old days! Recently the computer failed to send a message and found it was a faulty RAM stick. At that time I had 4 sticks, 2 sticks with 2 GB and 2 sticks with 1 GB, so a total of 6 GB (on Windows 10 Pro x64). Removed both 1GB sticks. Didn't want to settle for 4GB of storage so I went with this one. Plugged it in and the…

Failure out of the box, bad memory

Failure out of the box. I bought this to upgrade my Ubuntu server and found that the computer restarts whenever memory usage increases. Ran the memtester program and the memory failed, lots of stuck bits. I don't think this is a DIMM assembly issue, most likely a memory silicon failure, poor testing or no testing. Go back and buy elsewhere Will 2048 MB (2147483648 bytes) Have 2048 MB (2147483648 bytes), try mlock .locked.Loop 1/1: Stuck Address: ok Random value: ok Compare XOR: ok Compare SUB…

Good source for computer memory

These A-Tech DDR2s helped me a lot to upgrade a refurbished Dell Precision T3400 I bought a few months ago. It was 4GB and I increased it to 8GB. The three chips were pretty easy to install. The fourth, with a slot that partially falls under the power supply, turned out to be tricky. I'm visually impaired and have somewhat short filters so it took me a few tries to fit the last one. But eventually he showed up. I rebooted into the BIOS and ran the install. A little bit faster! They work pretty…
