This worked very well for cleaning long blown glass fixtures that fill up with dust and bugs. I used to have to remove them, which is time consuming and risks damaging them.

I've always felt frustrated trying to dust off some of my hand carved wooden trees. The little squares were getting dustier and dustier. Until I ordered microfiber towels! They work like magic! When nothing else emerged, these tiny rags slipped in and did their job, even with years of accumulated dust. Round rod 1/4" in diameter and approx. 10" long. The fabric on the handle worked for what I wanted to do - clean out the inner air intakes (just behind the wings) for a 24/7 fan. Turned off the fan, cleaned the air intakes (only 5 minutes?) and restarted the fan. No problem. I found another use for them. I have a dryer with narrow slits on the air intake. It *just* fit between the slots and I was able to clean each one fairly well, which was next to impossible before.
