The little pump that can!

I used this pump for the first time to deal with Ida flooding and it was a pleasant surprise. Drop about 2 inches into the basement with water and plug in. Immediately started pumping like a champ, no hesitation, no "probing" the depth or just intermittent working. A big improvement over the supposedly "automatic" Wayne pump I bought last time. year (twice as expensive as this one), which only worked intermittently. Don't waste your money on overpriced Wayne pumps, get these from Flotech. I…

All this time wasted. This pump is too complicated for me

I bought this pump in January 2018. I'm pretty good at mechanical things. When I received the pump I figured I would just have to plug it in and plug it in. That's not the case. You really need a technical background to understand how this pump works. In order to pump water out of this area, you must read and follow these instructions. Do not connect the hose until the pump is installed and filled with water. Tilt the pump sideways before starting the pump. Start the pump. Unplug, align and…

I love this pump: Water Pumps, Parts & Accessories

After over 20 years I finally had to replace my Intellipump. I was happy to know that they are still in production and as far as I can tell the design hasn't changed, other than the screws holding the main screen may be stainless steel. I had to replace them with original ones after they became rusty and difficult to remove/reinstall. This also didn't have a check valve, but that's a minor thing. I just hope this one lasts and works almost as well as my first one. Keep in mind that if you are…

Conditional 4 star rating after improvements

Thing pumps great when it works. The smart pump feature stinks! If you have your hands and aren't afraid to take it apart and remove that sensor, this is a great pump! It can even work with a sensor, meaning it's a great pump anyway. However, if you put it in water and it pumps for a few seconds, pauses for a few seconds, and pumps for a few seconds, it means the sensor is not working properly. After much searching we found that if you take this sensor out you don't need to put it back in as it

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Not the best

We bought this pump to replace a similar pump (no longer sold) because we needed something that shuts off automatically. We don't have a sump, we don't have a sump pit, but we do have a 2 inch hole in the basement where a shallow pump can run. Getting 2 stars instead of 1. But, and I can't stress this enough, this pump runs every few minutes until it probably finds water or burns out. "Submersible pump with electronic control; automatically turns on when there is water and turns off at 3/16"…

Works well - Update after 1 year

As for the suction function, the pump works as expected. However, the "intelligent" function turned out to be quite annoying. The pump is designed to start every two and a half minutes and when it detects the presence of water it will stay on to keep pumping. If no water is felt, it turns off. In theory, this seems like a good idea. But the pump isn't quiet, and when you're in a room within earshot of the pump -- say, the kitchen, which is at the top of the stairs to the basement -- the…

WHEN is a water pump NOT a water pump?

NO this special. When is a water pump NOT a water pump? When he gets too smart for his own wheel. I have a previous pump from their subsidiary called Water Tec (I'm told they have taken that company into Flotec). He's been working in the basement for about 5 years - turns it on - checks the water pumps - turns off the water - like he's supposed to do. So when it came time to buy another pump I tracked down this company only to find Flotec with their Intellipump model as a successor. I bought a…
