This sealer is another great Permatex product.

Permatex has been making sealers for centuries. This product is ideal when you need a little extra time assembling components. Most of today's sealants require assembly of the components in 5 minutes. With this seal you can take more time. The key to using sealants is to follow the directions carefully. Permatex has very brief instructions on their website for all the products they sell. Be sure to research the type of seal you have.

Pros
  • Strong and Fast Sealer
Cons
  • Too Stupid

This product really works

I used the correct material to seal the rubber passage plug on a Harley that was leaking from the stator through the plug going through the crankcase. I decided to give it a try as I was trying to save my buyer the expense of a good working stator and the extra work of removing the entire primary winding. I cleaned the rubber stopper and the area around it with a degreaser and rubbing alcohol. I stretched the rubber a bit and only the layer around the rubber put the connector back on, as well…

Pros
  • Emission Resistant
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging

Not just for gaskets

This RTV silicone is my go-to choice for small home repairs. It adheres well to many surfaces and cures quickly. You can forego the bead attachment, or apply it in thin coats with an old lint-free brush. So far my favorite fix has been repairing a cracked black leather sofa. I didn't trust my giant dog with the durability of standard consumer PVA couch repair kits, so I used this little tube of secret sauce instead. The repair is barely noticeable; They just look like some sort of dull, lightly

Pros
  • Replaces pre-cut gaskets
Cons
  • Has been damaged
