I'm not sure if the bottle I received has been on their shelf for years or not because it looks old and a bit dry. In the past when I've used threadlock it's always been liquid, but back then I've always used the LocTite brand and that Permatex stuff is very thick and almost "gel-like". However, it worked with the screw I screwed in, but I don't really care how long the rest of the stuff stays in the bottle.

You may need to bake this material to really make it stick as strongly as intended. What can I say, holds up very well. I used to put pan head screws in threaded hex connectors. They went through bolts in the heads to hold the valve covers. Creates a nice, clean look that no one else has. At least so far.
