youtube videos saying it takes 40 minutes but it only took about 10 minutes assuming I have access to an elevator and all the right tools but still. very easy installation. If you don't have the right tools go to a mechanic, they shouldn't need much, again it's very quick. I felt the difference right away but I've already driven 16,000 miles on it so if you do it right when you get the car you might not feel the difference.

This is by far the best mod I've made for my 2017 6 speed WRX! The original hub is made of rubber, which gives the shifters a free and rubbery feel. This detail makes shifting tight and precise. If you can jack up your car and have a simple set of sockets, you can install it in half an hour. People say it's the difference between day and night, and I'll probably be one of the few to say it's not. You really won't notice it right away. Installation was easy once you are familiar with a few hand tools and have a jack and stand. First I put the sleeve on the pin instead of the cable. Then put the cable on the grommet. I had a little trouble getting the cable to sit completely flush at first, but with some wobbling I was finally able to attach it and secure it with a washer and cotter pin. machine is off. Fits a 2016 WRX combined with a Perrin shift stopper and a beautiful 1.5lb shift knob and WOW! Subaru gearbox! The bushing allows the shifter to return to neutral quicker and it has a more positive feel when engaging a gear.
