Super cool! No rust and it made planting in my tank very easy. I could dig deep into my substrate to know that my plants will have a very strong root system. Update: I still use the same tools. The only thing that rusts is the screw on the scissors. I often use tweezers and a sand sieve. Excellent reliable durable set IMHO! Just get it. It makes your life as an aquarist much easier!

Great starter kit for aquascapers. The tongs and spatula are great! I haven't had to use scissors very often but the tools seem to be of good quality and did a great job setting up the aquascape in my new tank. Planting individual stem plants or small groups of carpet plants has never been so easy. It's worth the investment to save you time and effort when trying to land with your fingers straight, for example. Adds a bit of finesse that keeps plants and your character at their best.

I actually only bought this set for scissors but everything else will come in handy too. Tweezers are useful for anchoring small/stubborn plants in the substrate. A small rake is good for touching up gravel after cleaning to give it a nice smooth finish. The scissors are very sharp and precise. I'm interested in aquarium design and need tools that won't break the bank. There were many options and I accidentally chose this one. The tools work great and look great. Its stainless steel look gives it an almost surgical look, which I think is pretty cool. They are slightly short in length. Make sure you buy the right tools for your aquarium. These are great for pruning, planting and top dressing. However, if you're going to use them for planting, you'll need the rubber and soft plastic tips on the ends of the tweezers, as they may cut off your plant instead of setting it in place. February, now July, the tweezers are simply split and wiped dry. Too bad they seemed well done but apparently I was wrong. Downgraded to 2 stars because I don't even use them that often. Great tool set. The only thing I would like to improve is to make the inner edge of each tweezer rougher so that the plant stems have a little softer grip when inserting them into the substrate. The scissors are sharp enough to easily cut through a java fern or Amazonian sword, so they're fine for my purposes, and the curve in them is good for precision.
