Worked about 25 miles

Something went wrong. Very easy to install, easy to set timing, ridden about 25 miles and now won't start at all. The mechanic says it is unusable and now is not the time to return it. I had to buy another one from the parts store.

Okay, but also take the role.

It seems to work fine. I was wondering how it would be with my blue Bosch 1.5ohm coil. Answer: Excellent for a few days, after which the car became uncontrollable. Got a Pertronix coil and everything was fine again. FWIW the shutter speed on this thing is 54.9-55 which I find amazing.

I am happy with my westy

This Pertronix worked great on my 1982 Vesti. I installed new points, it helped, but I still had that twitch when I was 2nd, 3rd, 4th, now with a new Pertronix coil and distributor. All I can say is WOW, it works great. PS your top dead center # one cylinder will be different, your rotor will face towards the rear of the engine as you know the front of the engine is the front of the car.
