This backpack was perfect for our Bichon pup! We decided to travel when our bichon was about 5 months old. We've carried it all over North Carolina and Georgia in this backpack. It was nice to be able to fold it up when not in use and easy to open and close when we needed it. He was very cold there. He just outgrew it. Unfortunately, he can no longer lie in it. This is definitely the size for very small breeds or puppies.

This backpack is perfect for carrying my 14lb Pomeranian out in public. It likes to stick its head out of the pack, and since the entire side is open, it slides in and out of the pack easily. The straps are strong and there is also a waist belt for added stability. The only thing I don't like is the fluffy lid on the bottom insert, it seems a bit warm but not critical! The side pockets are also perfect for stowing away! Outstanding quality for the price.
