At first I thought these chicken nests were great. However, I quickly learned that my chickens love to eat aspen. Aspen fibers look like long worms when taken out of the nest, which is easy. This led to crop failures. The way they're packaged isn't great either. Mine was not in the plastic as shown in the product photos, just stuffed in a box. Some of them weren't even an inch thick. Not recommended.

How I wish I'd found them sooner! We have had chickens for many years and have always used straw in their pens. We only have one hen left who is a bit spoiled at her age. Love these liners. They fit perfectly in the gray plastic nest box and are easy to manipulate to allow the hens to form their nests. I have three boxes and change the liner (due to a broken egg, dirt, etc.) probably every two months. (That's for 30 hens using four boxes. With fewer layers, each pillow will last a lot longer.) My chickens live just over a year and until recently we used shavings in their bird feeders.
