🚪 Large White PetSafe Electronic SmartDoor with Wall Tunnel Extension Review

I didn't need this part. I used wood to reinforce the inside of this door. I have no way of returning it. So save your boxes until the job is done.

This product is designed to extend the dog door through the wall. This was not necessary, however, because the dog flap allowed water to penetrate not only inside but also between the walls. Our contractor fabricated the door from the outside in the same way as a window to make it watertight.

Overpriced and a waste of time. I bought it for a walk-through wall where it took me 7-3/4" to 8" to get through a wall with 2x6 (5-1/2") studs, interior drywall (1/2'), exterior plaster ( 1" and 1" thick insulation foam. The original telescoping door tube was 1" shorter than the 2x6 wall design. PetSafe advertised as working on a 6" wall will not work on a wall that actually has insulation.
