I wanted to like the product

I wanted to like the product. After a few months of use, the grind setting became very loose, as did the grinder itself. Despite the fact that I cover it with salt, the coffee grinder is difficult to grind. Interestingly, the same pepper grinder I bought from Williams-Sonoma works great.

Great line of products

Got these after the first purchase of a proper pepper mill. I can't stand gadgets/tools that don't work properly and this one works really well. The pepper mill is better than any I have ever owned and this one lives up to it. get them both You no longer need to spend good money on salt and pepper grinders. They are really reliable and seem like a well thought out tool.

  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Good but not great

Fake? the best in kitchen and dining

Either a fairly good fake or a multi pack that was disassembled for retail sale. Arrived in a cheap plastic bag with a stone in it. Salt is scattered everywhere. This is the second shipment I have received (the first one I returned thinking it was a full price item) and both were exactly the same. Everything is working fine so far, but I will check the performance carefully. . It is unacceptable for a $65 salt mill to be sold in this condition.

Great grinder for salt grinders

Can't tell you how many pepper grinders I've tried. Large berries of the highest quality will not happen. Adjusting the grind is difficult. The mechanism is out of order. They are too small or too big. Well this sister pepper mill works great. So when I wanted a salt shaker I felt comfortable choosing this model. It works well. The adjustments are simple and precise. If the grain you're loading is very coarse, you'll need to crank a lot, but that's okay: physics is physics, and too little salt…

Faulty mechanism not fixed by customer service

The grind adjustment mechanism on mine started to bind during the first few uses and eventually became almost impossible to adjust - even turned upside down. Also salt ran out of the grinder after use although I tried to shake off excess food etc. I sent the device to customer service in Niagra, NY; Although it was returned quickly and wasn't as badly connected as it was originally, it spills the salt every time it's moved and makes a mess. These are exactly the problems I wanted to avoid by…

Attractive and good performance

I think it's great that you can regulate the fineness of the salt so easily and precisely. This helps me especially when cooking. Sometimes I prefer larger flakes and other times I want smaller, easy-to-dissolve granules. The magnetic lid does not affect the functionality of the windmill, but I warn the guests and remind my husband so that there are no situations. where the mill tips over and its contents spill out from above. This has never happened before, but I can imagine how it could have…

Nice but poorly made

I've bought 4 or 5 of these salt mills since 2008. , black, green and white peppers and an extra one in case one breaks!). Salt mills are not good. I put sea salt in them and they kept sticking together and got to the point where they just produced "salt dust". The grind selector knob (fine -> coarse) will wear out over time no matter how you set it. I thought Peugeot was the leading manufacturer. Probably for cars, not for kitchens! I have another Peugeot wooden salt shaker and it still…

Nice but poor quality

I have bought 4 or 5 of these salt grinders since 2008. 4 of them are for 5 peppers, black, green and white peppers and one as Reserve in case one breaks!). Salt mills are no good. Nice but poorly working grinder

Huge disappointment. The Peugeot salt mill is used to grind gray salt (French salt is preferred). I bought Dry Gray Salt (specifically for the grinder) but it just glues the grinder together and after the first turn of the grinder (on the coarsest setting) not much came out. I removed the salt, thoroughly cleaned the whole mechanism, put the salt back in, the result is the same. Insanity. Himalayan salt is very dry, but little salt comes out when crushed. Finer settings bring almost nothing…

Before you throw it in the trash - kitchen and dining room

I bought this salt mill in 2013 because I really liked the Peugeot pepper mill. Both have a great design and are easy to fill without a stick. The salt mill worked well until recently when each revolution produced less product and inconsistent grain sizes at different settings. He poured in salt and blew out the interior with compressed air. Better but not like new. Consulted Revain reviews to see if others had similar issues; I even checked the Peugeot website but it was in French. I got very…
