Description of ๐Ÿ”ง PhosGuard, 4 Liter / 1 gallon

REMOVES SILICATE AND PHOSPHATE: PhosGuard rapidly removes phosphate and silicate from marine and freshwater aquaria. IRREVERSIBLE BINDING: PhosGuard will not release phosphates or silicates back into your tank or aquarium due to its ability to exhibit strong binding capabilities, consequently reducing phosphates and silicates to very low levels. USE: Although PhosGuard is effective in both fresh and marine water, it will provide optimal results in sea water and the need for it is better defined in sea water. FILTRATION: PhosGuard is highly porous and bead-shaped to promote easy water flow through and around it, increasing both its efficiency and capacity. DIRECTIONS: Use 85 mL (1โ„3 cup) for every 200 L (50 US gallons) saltwater or 400 L (100 US gallons) freshwater. For best results, PhosGuard should be rinsed before use and placed so as to maximize the flow of water through it but not so that it tumbles against itself in flow.

Better than GFO for me!

Easier to use than GFO and I think it suits my tank better! It's a good deal and cheap enough that you can change it out fairly often, unlike the GFO where I always used it for too long because I didn't want to waste it.

Worth the price from Fish & Aquatic Pets

I use Fosguard in my media reactors (2) in the swamp. This is great for keeping phosphate levels down in my 120 gallon reef tank. I use a Hanna meter to test phosphates. I change my medium every few weeks so this larger bucket is perfect for me.

SILIENT REMOVER Best in Fish & Aquatic Pets

I bought this product to reduce phosphorus in my aquarium. The recommended dosage is 100 ml per 60 US gallons. After a week, he reduced his phosphate levels by about 80%. With weekly water changes, the phosphorus content remains constant. The only question is how long the product will work before a change is required.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black

Great product for fish and aquatic animals

My aquariums have problems with silicates in tap water and therefore seaweed - this product solves that problem and keeps my plants clean and green. I keep chicken, angelfish, measles, barbs, neon snails and mystery snails and the product does not affect them in any way. I'm a big fan of the Seachem line of aquarium care, water treatment and plant fertilizers.

Pros
  • Dope ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • Expensive

Add this to your reef and freshwater arsenal

Cured my cyano/algae problems in my 32 Biocube in three days. Also now using it in my 20 gallon fresh water tank with no side effects. I recommend the Nano Reactor Saltwater Tank and use reusable bags in my external freshwater filter. Love sensible discounts when buying in bulk, so keep up the good work Amazon! I will keep this on my must have reef aquarium list.
