Works best with computers and accessories

After warning that the power supply is not looping (I taped my Raspberry Pi's micro USB PWR connector), PiZ works great. It supplies power through the pins of the GPIO connector. It works great even when installed with an Ozzmaker BerryIMU GPS device with the same GPIO connector. No battery is included, so you must use your own 3.7V lithium polymer battery. The battery's screw terminals mean you'll need wire strippers if your battery already has a JST power connector that needs to be removed.

Pros
  • Includes Battery Management System (BMS). Provides automatic battery charging when power is restored.
Cons
  • Replacement availability

Overpriced and worthless

This chip is overpriced and functionally inferior to chips from MakerFocus or SunFounder. It also doesn't come with the standard onboard battery connector. It would be nice if it were, but unfortunately the screws for tightening the battery posts are too small. I can't get the wires to stay connected to the board. I have cell phone and laptop tool cases and the smallest flat head is still too big. The kit also did not include a tool suitable for their connection. It's too light even for a $35…

Pros
  • A switch can be fitted. Off position turns off the Pi. Use a 2.54mm cable connector for the switch (see Amazon B07FXXDN2M).
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

Not bad but not the best.

A very good UPS for the Raspberry Pi Zero, unless you tend to be inattentive or forgetful. Be very careful when powering your Raspberry Pi from any connector other than the micro USB input on this board while in use. Now I've gone through two of them. One didn't provide the correct voltage out of the box and the second I accidentally mispowered and this ended up being used. Be sure to test Batt Vout and Vin with a multimeter prior to installation to ensure everything is working. I would…

Pros
  • Built-in ADC measures input voltage, output voltage, battery voltage and temperature. With the sample Python code, you can monitor them and shut down the Pi when a power outage and low battery occur.
Cons
  • Don't know

Not operational or supported

I ordered this item at the same time as purchasing PiSugar2, but I couldn't get PiZ-Uptime 2.0 to work. I've been in touch with you to see if Alchemy Power has any suggestions or a way to check if the device is defective. I absolutely have the answer now. It charged my battery, but as soon as I removed power from the PiZ, it removed power from my Raspberry Pi Zero W. If there is a way to get the board to work properly I'd love to hear about it. it.PiSugar has received a lot of support. They…

Pros
  • Supplies the UPS with a stable voltage of 5 V, max 2 A. Uses a lithium-ion or lithium-polymer battery. The maximum charging current is 0.5 amps. The battery is not included.
Cons
  • Lots of things

Very good UPS for Raspberry Pi Zero if you don't tend to be inattentive or forgetful. Fee when using. Now I've gone through two of them. One didn't provide the correct voltage out of the box and the second I accidentally mispowered and this ended up being used. Before installing, be sure to test the Batt Vout and Vin with a multimeter to make sure everything is working. I would describe this board. how fragile. Other experiences may vary.

Pros
  • Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)
Cons
  • Doubtful

Works very well *if* you can get a good one, not a lemon!

I ordered 3 of these. Only 1 out of 3 actually worked! Their quality control is lacking because they were probably made in China where they have no understanding of quality. When they are domestically produced, there is no excuse for such a high DOA! *IF* you can get really functional, it will do what it's supposed to do and you'll probably be happy with it. The one I have works perfectly and does exactly what I was hoping for. You will definitely need a jeweler's screwdriver to install the…
