Plantronics 38541 02 Headset Cable Review

Every movement causes pops, clicks and noise. I am very disappointed in Plantronics for making something of such low quality.

This is perfect for my star set, but it has one very annoying problem: the button on it seems to signal a press at random times. When I'm not on the phone, the phone suddenly plays music. When I make a call, the call gets disconnected. Damn. I'll be taking it apart soon to see if I can lobotimize the button.

I have a StarSet H31 that I wanted to use with my iPhone and this adapter works great. You do NOT need any other amplifiers/etc. use. to make it work. Just plug the headset into the QD jack and the 4-wire mini adapter into the Lightning adapter and everything works great. The button on QD mutes your call, as expected. Works great for my application. I don't know why it got such a bad rating.

The 3.5mm end of this Planttonics adapter comes loose where the wires attach to the terminal post, causing static electricity after about 6 months careful use will develop.I have started adding a strain relief loop to the wire up to this weak point, time will tell if this improves durability. I also buy at least two at a time as a backup because of this weakness. Works great for phone calls. The button also performs different functions depending on what the phone is doing (music, calls, etc.). Plugs directly into the headset cable, no amplifier required. As mentioned in other reviews, this isn't really meant for music as older Plantronics headsets are meant for voice. However, the voice quality is excellent. Just received this cable to connect my new Plantronics Encore HW 540 headset to my iPhone 6. The cable broke the first time it was used. My iPhone 6 would not end a call unless the cable caused the phone to disconnect. The 3.5mm plug apparently triggers random stop and start calls, randomly starts and stops music, and launches Siri without warning. I'm using this Plantronics headset cable with a Plantronics HW251N Wideband Noise Canceling SupraPlus Mono Headset. This headset and cable combo works great with my iPhone 3Gs. It's hard to see the photo, but Quick Disconnect has an answer/end button. The sound quality when making calls is excellent. From the way you look at this unit I don't want to worry about another Bluetooth device that needs charging, programming etc. The seller gets 5 stars for the price of 12.83 I paid in June 2013 as it is the best price I have ever seen. I've paid up to $30 elsewhere for the same cable. The cable made by Platronics gets 1 star. I've been using Platronics binaural headsets since 2006. In fact, I still have one of the ones I bought in '06 and it still works to this day. ! I use the headset every day
