PLT Edge: cheaper and better

I lost my Edge (previous version of this one) and was expecting a much more significant improvement from this one. I had to update the firmware immediately because the silent and assistant options weren't working. The benefit of the old charger was that it protected the entire headset. It's shorter and I'm not sure if hanging it on your belt is a good idea. So it's expensive for the few improvements I see. I need to check how the other person is listening to me. Update: After a month of use I…

Downgrade from Edge

Got this to replace Plantronics Edge which basically stopped working properly after 12 months. This is a known issue, after 6-18 months many Edges experience audio issues where the person on the other line can no longer hear you. Plantronics didn't fix anything, it's a hardware failure they won't fix. So I got this thinking it was a newer version that hopefully fixed the bug. I don't know if this has been fixed yet, but this device has received many criticisms in design so far. The outer shell…

The best I've used so far.

I've always been wary of Plantronics products but I have to admit this is the best single ear Bluetooth headset I've ever used. I really liked my old headset, but it's an improvement in every way imaginable. It's really good for establishing and maintaining a Bluetooth connection - it hasn't frustrated me in the slightest. It always connects to my phone instantly whenever it's on. I've used many Bluetooth devices and none of them have been as seamless. The style is wonderful. The blood red…

The new model is no better

This is my third Voyager. Works like the old ones, but the battery drains much faster. The biggest problem is that people I talk to complain that if I do something during the conversation, the noises get louder and louder. I was slowly folding my grocery bag and my husband complained that it was so loud and annoying that I had to stop to end the call. It happens with things that shouldn't matter, like steaming my clothes. Washing dishes is out of the question. I can't even hear him and I'm…

Best if you value noise cancellation

Over the years I have bought many hands-free headsets from all manufacturers and have always been frustrated using them when traveling in noisy or windy areas. by comparing the top-rated Plantronics Legend for noise-cancellation and this newer Voyager 3200. The test was conducted while speeding 65 mph down the freeway and calling my home answering machine, first with the windows open, then with the windows down. Well known for its excellent noise-cancelling ability in extremely noisy…

I like computers and accessories

While others have written about short battery life, I still get 4 hours of battery life on a single charge. It's very light, the voice quality is good, and other people can hear and understand me much better than with my old earbuds. If they come out with a model that gives you 4+ hours of talk time, I would wait for that. But if you don't talk it will last a lot longer on a charge, say a week. I've never tried it because when it drops to an hour (a little voice tells you that when you put it…

Very uncomfortable to wear

I've had a few other Plantronics bluetooth devices over the years but this one is the most annoying. I really like the sound quality and the noise-blocking technology, but this is the most uncomfortable Bluetooth I've ever had. I use the smallest earbud but I feel like it falls out of my ear all the time and this has happened to me several times. I tried to add an overlay but Bluetooth was sticking out of my head. It probably won't fit because of the long mic boom. Seems unbalanced. If it fits,
