Excellent 12x17 " scanner if 800dpi suits your needs

This scanner replaced a Plustek OpticPro A320L which failed after a few weeks of use. The two scanners appear to be identical except this A320E is a Toshiba 800 dpi uses picture element instead of the 1600 dpi Sony element in the A320L I don't need more than 600 dpi and the Toshiba element gives high quality scans, so considering the price difference the A320E is very attractive to me. One Touch' on the right margin , which in principle is a very good idea. But the DocAction/MacAction software…

So impressed! on scanners

Within an hour of delivery I set it up and scanned twenty 9x12 watercolor illustrations for the book. I downloaded and installed the driver according to the website instructions and I'm using Image Capture on Mac OS. I'm so glad I didn't have any technical issues and that the scan quality exceeds my expectations considering some comparable scanners cost twice as much. Very very happy!

Great scanner on flatbed and photo scanners

Setting up custom scan is a bit tricky as the scan preview shows the image/document in different layouts sideways or upside down and even at a 45 degree angle, but when If you actually press a custom number on the scanner, it will scan correctly. This is an excellent scanner for images/documents larger than the standard 8" x 11". I personally need this to scan 10" x 10" images for my children's picture books that I am writing as the illustrations are hand drawn and colored.

This did the job perfectly.

Decided to rewrite a few hundred pages of a family album (11" x 17") to make copies for our grandkids. The project involved printing 5 copies of each page. I did this on my Epson P900. I scanned everything in TIF format at 600 dpi, edited it in Photoshop and printed it at 300 dpi. The scanner worked perfectly. This included some very old faded photos, letters, newspaper articles, notes etc. The scans were excellent and could easily be enhanced in Photoshop. I mean it worked perfectly to give me

I am very happy that I bought this product!

On Mac 15.5.2 the installation was easy. I didn't use the discs in the box, instead I downloaded the software from their website. Finding the right colors was the biggest challenge when setting up. The default was too red. I don't know exactly how I got the correct result, just further adjusted the variables. It took more than ten minutes and less than an hour. A few things I couldn't figure out myself were quickly resolved with a call to tech support. This involved moving the scanned files to…
