🔥 Polder Safe Serve Instant Read Thermometer with Torch in Red Review

I love this thermometer! I broke the first one by dropping it into a water-filled sink. Then I bought another brand, almost the same, but I didn't like that it didn't have a backlight and the print was too small. I have ordered this new one again and it is the best. It tells you the temperature of the meat it should be and it also has a light. You won't be disappointed if you buy it!

The first few times I used it it worked perfectly. However, it is very difficult to deviate from the meat settings and I have never been able to turn off the alarm. During the first 20 uses, it does not measure temperatures above 200 degrees and the alarm goes off constantly. At the end it just turns on, randomly switches between bars f and c, and beeps. Given how uncomfortable it is to hold, I wouldn't recommend it due to the risk of it becoming defective like me.

I can't see this properly because it got lost in my kitchen and no one knows where the damn thing is. I have an old black polder just like this one which I love - it's over 10 years old and still works great, I bought this new red one to have a second one. I bought this thermometer because I bought it from this company about 10 years ago and have used it almost weekly with no problems. So I knew they were making a quality product. Pros: Quick and easy to use with LED temperature display. Settings for all meats that allow the unit to beep when your internal temperature reaches the right level for each type of meat you are cooking. This thermometer is great. The plastic makes it feel a bit cheap and I'm afraid I might break the locking mechanism. The buttons can be a bit fiddly at times, but this is way better than my last digital meat thermometer. It still takes time to measure the temperature, but not as long as before. I like that the probe is thin so I don't have to worry about too much juice coming out of the cut of meat I'm cooking. I'm mildly red/green color blind so that's a huge blessing. Very handy with a long probe so you don't get your hands too close to the grill's heat. But the device can't be used when the function that beeps at a set temperature is off, so you'll often hear an annoying beep when you're using it anyway. This seems very accurate and works as advertised; I just think it could be designed better.
