Good but hard to tell apart

I bought this expecting it to be easier to spot bugs caused by random fluff. Unfortunately, many things like lint, rope, and other random particles that may be found around the bed make finding bed bugs like looking for a needle in a haystack. I gave up after 3 hours of carefully examining every little glowing piece I could see. I gave 3 stars because something glows underneath.

Bright.when it work

I bought this as a backup UV source for work. I really liked it when it first came out. It was 25-30 times brighter than the 7 led flashlight I bought many years ago. The next day I tried it at work and the light wouldn't come on. Checked the batteries, everything is fine. I shook it and it lit up for a moment. I tried a different type of battery but the case isn't the right size, it hangs in the case and still lights up about 1 in 5 times.

Fantastic article. This model is the best.

I have several of these. Some that look the brightest are actually not as bright as the one discussed here. The longer wavelength is more firmly in the range of human vision. The shorter wavelength on this one (365nm) also has a filter similar to the almost blue-black coatings on UV poster lamps. You will find that this UV light will fluoresce dry urine and UV dyes from air conditioners [etc.] 2-4 times brighter than cheaper UV flashlights.

Essential for Pet Owners

Do you know those times when you think maybe your dog has peed somewhere, maybe not, you want to know for sure and when you go downstairs and sniff that place, you are the results not conclusive? This light validates or justifies your dog. We call this the urine indicator, wherever your dog urinates it will glow green/yellow instead of blue. This works best in the evenings when there is less natural light coming out of the windows and the results are far from conclusive!

Wow what a difference!

I've used some inexpensive UV flashlights to detect uranium in collector glass but WOW what a difference with this 365nm light source! The 395nm flashlights do a pretty good job, but this 365nm light source really makes the uranium shine! The flashlight is a convenient size to carry and use. The switch makes a solid and easy-to-use impression. The beam is strong enough to cast enough black light a pretty decent distance. Good flashlight! I'm glad I made the purchase!

Requires modification to install 18650 battery

I crushed two 18650 batteries trying to get them to work before realizing the positive side was not making contact. I had to remove the plastic cone before the 18650 battery got to the positive terminal. When I did that, the flashlight worked fine. To increase the distance between the battery and the handset, you need to make or buy a "18650 battery case". The flashlight works well too. At first I thought I had a 395nm wavelength flashlight because of the purple color of visible light. As soon…

Very low light for flashlights

Works well when you are within 30cm of the object you want to illuminate. There's a black light filter for the lens, which seems to muffle the amount of light that's given off. It is definitely 365nm UV, good quality body and button. I bought to check for fluorescent stones (Uperlites) and it doesn't work for my application. I walk beaches and have to hold a flashlight at waist level to see the rocks. With this flashlight, you must be within a foot of rocks for them to glow. I'll look for a…

Great little UV lamp

First off, this isn't a $200 lamp with a high efficiency UV filter and 10,000 lumens. This is a fairly inexpensive, well-made UV lamp that is excellent value for money. I use it to illuminate glass and UV reactive minerals and for that purpose it's excellent. The beam is bright enough in UV light to illuminate UV-sensitive objects from 10 to 20 feet away, even in well-lit rooms. You may need a dark room for weekly reactive substances like biological stains. The lens forms a beam from a single…

Great UV Scorpion Light

I live northwest of Tucson, Arizona. And Scorpios are part of the environment. But they have to stay outside without exception. In the 15 months that we have lived in Arizona I have caught seven bark scorpions that have entered our home. opportunity to get in and were not stopped by insecticides. So I did a little research to find a UV light that I can use to find them at night. This UV flashlight has been well reviewed and emits 365nm UV light which I have read is ideal. It creates a faint but
