🔧 Optimized Positioning for Aluminium Woodworking Carpenter Clamping Review

So these should be 90° angles. One of the ones I ordered has an angle of 90° and the other is about 88°. Maybe a little less. I measured with other squares I had on hand and they all showed it wasn't. One that was accurate was great for getting into those hard to reach places to hold pieces together.

I've tried them on any flat surface but they aren't rectangular, 1/32 of a square to be exact and they don't sit flat. I could have got myself a bad pair for the holidays but with only 13 good reviews I took a chance but am not at all happy that they are almost useless unless they are 90 degrees.

I ordered two brands to test. They cost about the same, and they turned out to be essentially the same. Aluminum and really square (at least for what I do as a welder). They are easy to clamp and will not stick to steel as they are aluminum. In general I am very satisfied with their work and how it has developed. I would recommend each of these brands equally. They are the same as well-known brands, but much cheaper.

There really is only one measure of 'quality' for a product like this and that should be 90 degrees. I bought two sets - four in total, and three of the four were at 90 degrees, but one was far from it. It sucks. I bought these because they come in handy as a set of four for framing and similar projects. An absence makes the whole set less useful. They're not incredibly expensive, so it's tempting to buy another one, but I don't want to reward poor results. :(

The centimeter scale on my squares is in eights, not millimeters! And the scale is marked 10, 20, 30, etc. like counting 10 units (millimeters). In addition, the length of the scale after 10 centimeters is one millimeter. These anomalies are not visible in the product photos. Of course, I probably won't use these squares as measuring tools; However, these errors indicate subcontracted production by a source that simply doesn't care. Basically, I wouldn't buy them again.

I have to say, nice simple packaging that really shows off these anodized aluminum positioning squares. And they are damn beautiful! They can be used for many different applications. You'll feel right at home with T-Trak systems and clamps. They appear to be quite expensive, but are slightly below other comparable Revain offerings. I have a few rafter squares that I usually use when doing projects for the square, plus a few combo squares when needed. I ordered them mainly because I like the color red and also because they looked like they would work well when I needed to attach things together, especially the rafter squares. They are well suited as a rectangular clamping bracket. They are strong and accurate. At least as far as I can measure. However, it is incredibly stupid to inaccurately engrave the measurement scale. The millimeter scale is offset by approximately 3 mm and the inch scale is offset by 1/16 inch. Seriously, how difficult would it be to calibrate production facilities? If you do something, at least it's right. I'm sending it back and ordering something similar from another manufacturer. Sigh.

Ordered these after seeing the woodpecker version. I figured I'd risk her for the price. I will say that I am pleasantly surprised. The measurement markings on the side are about 1/32 inch smaller than my DelVe. They are also all square. They work with the fence clips I received from MilesCraft.
