Terrible Steering, Waste of Money

This power steering replacement part was a complete letdown. While it technically fit, it made my driving experience worse than before. The only good thing about it was that it was automotive compatible. However, the cost and hassle of installation far outweighed any potential benefits. Avoid this product at all costs.

It is anything but a Volvo pump replacement.

This pump does not allow the use of a factory Volvo mounting bracket, so it cannot be properly refitted to the engine. Also, the return hose connector is pointing in the exact opposite direction of where it should be. It is advertised as a direct replacement, the packaging says it "fits" most Volvo and Mercruiser vehicles. Don't buy this on a mid 90's Volvo 5.0, it won't work. Good paper weight!

Save a few hundred dollars by using this pump in place of a "boat " steering pump.

Purchased to replace a leaking power steering pump on my 454 Mercury Cruiser engine. I had to lengthen the low pressure line a bit as the low pressure inlet is bent forward on the pump, the original was bent backwards. A small price for a few hundred dollars savings! Installed it and we were back on the boat and no longer having to worry about a leaking pump.
