Description of POWERTEC Black O.D. Splice - 4 Inch

Designed for connecting to two 4-Inch diameter hoses together. Each O.D. accepts most 4-Inch dust collection hose. A middle section with greater diameter for easy assembly. Tough, durable ABS plastic material. Both 4-Inch nominal ends measure 3-31/32-Inch O.D. and 3-11/16-Inch I.D.

A loose connection with Dust Right fittings requires tape.

For some reason this 4" O.D. adapter does not snap into Rockler's 4" ID dust right port. I can still use this but I have to use tape to secure the connection. It's actually a joke that such a simple thing should become a problem. Really how difficult is it?

Pairs Sched 40 PVC for Dust Nicely

Bought for dust collection. People have been asking if this fits sched 40 PVC. It does. For me this is without modification on PVC. From tube to tube it varied from tight (nearly perfect) to slightly loose where a layer of tape could make it too tight. A much cheaper alternative to the PVC alternative at $27+.

Excellent hose connection

This is a fairly simple connection that connects two 4" hoses (or a hose and other 4" female item) together. The hoses simply slide onto the two ends and are held in place with 4" hose clamps (not included but available from many vendors here at Revain). While it's strong under normal conditions, it's made of plastic so it can break if stepped on or crushed. Remember that the key to a good dust extraction compared to this type of dust extraction is to keep the length of the hose short; So 3 or…

They will not fit popular 4 " dust collector fittings.

Unbelievable. This is the second time I have (accidentally) ordered Powertec dust collector fittings. I will never do it again. too big to fit to even start with any other regular accessory or dust box connector. Both times I ordered I really needed the part and instead of agonizing over the return I sat for an hour with a rasp and heavy duty sandpaper to check the diameter Des to reduce male/Powertec connections and increase the diameter of the female components.

4 " CONNECTION - Does exactly what it's supposed to!

This product has received some bad reviews, probably due to a lack of understanding of the difference between a 4" pipe and a joint. 4"PVC pipe, schedule 40, it's not a water pipe, it's a hose connection. This is a CONNECTOR for connecting 2 pieces of 4" (flexible) dust collection hose together.
