I'm sick of those foam sponges that go bad every few days. These networks are 100 times better. I wish I had found these years ago.

I have an AquaClear 50. It rode up the suction tube but left a hole so I covered it with a trimmed polishing pad. This did not affect the water flow.

For larger sizes the inner diameter of the gasket is NOT 16mm. It's 14mm. And those 2 mm are important. They don't match the Fluval filters or the Filstar API and probably many other filters.

This product is a lifesaver for very small fish from 5 to 10 gallons and is very easy to install. It won't fit larger filters, but works great on filters under 10 gallons.

I love them, they look so nice in my aquarium, they are easier to clean and more attractive than foam. I have 2 70 gallon Aquaclear filters and you just need to take out the little piece of rubber to adjust the hoses.

I used to use a small sponge filter on the inlet to keep the filter media from getting too dirty, but it often clogged and needed regular cleaning. So far this product seems to be a great replacement and is much easier to clean. BTW I use Aquaclear 50 and it barely fits on the inlet which I think is perfect.

I love this filter inlet cap for my 10 gallon shrimp tank. This is a much better solution than the sponge I used. First I bought a smaller size, but there was not enough money for it. I went up a size and got it the next day (cool!). I put it on and within an hour it was covered in shrimp. My AQ50's fit without fuss which means they should fit up to a size 50. Others require you to enlarge the white rubber grommet that holds them. One of mine had a small burr where two stitch seams joined. I knocked it down in about 30 seconds with a small file, but keep an eye on it when you get it. He would have easily killed the fish. *Updated Rating, Still 5 Stars* So I've been using them for quite some time. Shortly after my first review I found a way to use it, I just forgot to update the review. As you can see in the picture I modified my filter to use inlet screens. It turns out that the air intake of this filter is perfect for the Y-branch of a sponge filter (two cylindrical sponge type) and the intake grilles fit right on top of where the sponges originally were.
