Fits my 2011 Toyota Highlander SE

I was able to install this on my 2011 Toyota Highlander SE. Be sure to remove the pin before installation, and then reinsert the pin.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Don't really like it everything is fine

Like new again: shock absorbers, struts and suspension

I was able to remove the old struts with a small screwdriver and the new struts went in without tools. Simple as can be. New gates open and close like new.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Something different

fits well, serves its purpose

good price, works well, solid, as described. The thin wire holding the post in place seems a little flimsy, it took a little time to get it in place but it seems to work.

Pros
  • easy to read control panel
Cons
  • i say nothing

Less than 2 months of operation and oil leaks!

They have been installed less than 2 months and one of them is already losing oil and starting to fail. I go to Toyota for a factory replacement so I don't keep wasting money on crappy parts like these.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • No performance

Huge savings if it lasts

Works on my 2012 Highlander with power door. The dealer wanted almost $200 for one. Just replaced the defective (leaky) one. Remove the cross pin, fully seat the ball into the socket and the cross pin should slide in easily. I will update if he dies in a week ;)

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Negligible serviceability

Not so easy to assemble

One of the ball socket heads was not machined to allow the joint and pin to fit easily. Hammer before I could insert the pen. It took me a while to figure out how it works. I almost got the item back but it looks like they ended up working.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Compatibility

Decent product - USE blue Loctite!

That's decent. The material for the metal at the ends of the ball is soft. The two parts of the ball point are also placed on the thread. Use Blue Loctite Threadlocker AFTER installation. The ends of the balls do not line up because the pistons are new and hard. They fit my 2011 Highlander perfectly. Pros: Price and functionality Cons: Requires Loctite and cheap ball end metal.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • A few little things

Installation - Lift Legs

The 4th picture shows the ends of the rod. It's not the same as regular ones that just snap into place. It is necessary to remove the pin, put the socket on the ball, and then replace the pin. Make sure the pin goes in the top hole and doesn't come out the side to keep the ball in place. Once secured, the struts feel nice and strong and lift the rear end of our 2011 Highlander.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Hardware
