Blue Preppin Sanding Block for Weapons Review

I've been using one of these for years and bought another so I can switch from one grit to another without delay. If you have resources, take four. Set yourself a "color code" for the grit and I think you'll have more fun sanding. I have a Festool grinder, but sometimes I have to do it by hand, especially with the last grit.

I love how easy it is to move this block from one end of the board to the other while sanding. I also love how easy it was to slip the sandpaper in. I'm glad I spent a little more and bought such a quality device. Preppin's gun is on the left of the photo. This reduced the need for a mill.

Compared to other sanding blocks I have used, this one offers a larger sanding surface. Waste is also low. By that I mean that only a small portion of the sandpaper you put in isn't used for sanding, maybe an inch or so. I also don't get spikes like some sharpening stones. It is also easy to install sandpaper in it and it has good holding power. Too bad I didn't know about this sooner.

I've owned it for about a year and use it for sanding wood and it's great! Hold it in place (often they're 2 3/4x5". This block solves some problems with them. This block takes up 1/4 of a standard 9x11 sheet in the short direction, while these take up 1/3 taking up the length way - and most of it goes into the sanding block and doesn't get used, so you get more sanding off each sheet. That's it.

Best sanding block I've ever had! In fact, I liked this pad so much that I will be purchasing several other colors, each containing a different paper grain, to change less for simplicity and organization. Excellent product. For years I've been looking for a hard sanding block that can be easily installed and removed with sandpaper - perfect for all tasks. Even though the sandpaper is very quick and easy to attach and remove, I will be buying more. I use 4 grit sandpaper regularly and intend to get one for each commonly used grit. This is one of those cases where someone has taken a simple item and made a thorough and high quality makeover, taking the tool to the next level. even. I've used store-bought cork-backed blocks and other wooden or rubberized industrial blocks. This is the second block I have bought in the last few weeks - they are great! They're longer than most cheaper plastic sanding blocks and heavier, which I consider a plus. The longer length allows for better sanding of large, flat surfaces, and the added weight makes them more stable when sanding (when sandpaper grips wood, lightweight plastics tend to tip over at the edges).
