FIRST CHECK: You will need a tiny screwdriver to install the batteries. There are four screws in the 1/8 inch holes. There are better ways to gain access to the battery bays, but apparently the Chinese engineers haven't figured them out yet. The screws are Phillips and recessed about 1/4 inch.
