I needed a replacement mortise door handle for an old door and it almost fit. All I had to do was carve a piece of wood out of the groove so it would sit flush with the door. The instructions were clear and easy to understand. Once properly aligned everything works as it should, including the key and lock. Stainless steel looks great!

I was looking to replace an old house I am renovating. These work great! I'm halfway through installing over 20 of these units and think they're excellent. I had to redecorate the doors because they are very old. The fittings come very close but require a little carpentry work to get it right. I couldn't be happier. They are not particularly ornate but have an authentic vintage look and appear to be of very good quality.

A carpenter installed about 10 of these in a 1920's bungalow I restored and they work great. I wanted something "transitional"; not too old fashioned and not too modern. So they fit perfectly in every way and look fantastic. Old picks are fun and work. The trick is to make sure the doors are cut in properly. Luckily I had to tweak the old doors a bit to get them working. This would be a difficult DIY project unless you have serious carpentry skills. For the price, they're a steal. Enjoy.

The door handle looked cheap and flimsy but after fitting it looked quite nice. It worked fine for two days, and then it started to periodically drift off setting. It kept getting to the point where the handle would turn, but the internal locking mechanism wouldn't engage, so we kept locking ourselves out of the rooms just by closing the doors.
