Big pads, lazy seller!

Great brake pads but terrible seller. The shipping label was simply stuck onto the Akebono box, which arrived torn and the pieces were literally falling out.

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • Some flaws

Super Pads in Brake Pads

A great replacement for our Förster! I replaced a set of Stop Tech pads which I thought were amazing until I got these. No dust and they last even better than the sports surfaces we replaced. Very impressive.

Pros
  • Super Price
Cons
  • Neutral

The front brakes are also painted.

These are front brakes. If you've never changed the brakes on a Subaru Impreza, check out YouTube. You loosen one screw and there is no need to remove the caliper. It's a lot easier than you think. You will be drawn if you wish.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Fantastic brake pads

Fantastic brake pads! However, be aware. I assume these pads are for the WRX. Due to the wear sensor, these pads are not suitable for the Impreza 2.0. ACT 929 are the lasts that match this version (and are the same size, maybe a bit thinner). Revine on 06/20/17 advises exactly the opposite!.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Piggy bank price

I had to go back. good for braking system

A box of brake pads came in a standard USPS plastic bag. The terminals on several pads were bent and the molybdenum grease packing was crushed, causing leaks throughout the installation guide. The only good part of the purchase was the easy return of the product and it was credited to my payment card.

Pros
  • useful for more than intended purpose
Cons
  • minus present

Disappointed with the brake pads

Bought these brakes on recommendation as replacement pads for Subaru Genuine which are actually made by Akebono. I assumed the quality would be the same or better but I was so wrong. These pads have terrible brake fade and have a very strong smell when hot. This never happened with original Subaru pads. Because of the $5 price difference, I will definitely buy Subaru pads next time.

Pros
  • Excellent
Cons
  • Something is wrong

I bought it on recommendation here and on TireRack. Excellent value for money and quality. Turns out I don't need new pads yet. I checked them. Well packaged (so as not to rattle or break), nothing is broken/bent. The inner box did not survive the shipping well due to the weight of the product. I'll keep it for future use with my OEM rotors and let you know.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • For the old

They will not fit 2017 Subaru Inpreza

As you can see the two tabs on the Akebono being compared are too narrow including the seals which have a large gap in the slot on the caliper body. This causes the pad to suddenly move 1/2 inch as you back and forward and slam on the brakes with a thud. I consider it unsafe and have replaced them next week, the pads themselves are well done and apart from this issue they hold up the car well. They have been listed as compatible with the 2017 Subaru Impreza front brakes and should have plenty…

Pros
  • I hold my fists
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

Fits perfectly! Best spare parts

I installed this on an 18 Forester Touring with telescopic sight. OEM front rotors warped with 75% pad life remaining. That's what happens when companies use CVT transmissions. There's no engine braking to slow you down. In any case, the standard combination sometimes led to unpleasant brake noise and a lot of brake dust. Which according to the dealer is normal for his brand. I'm a mechanic and have been using akebono pads for over 22 years with no problems. These pads have the same dimensions…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Makes me nervous
