Great clamp! for night lights

Just what I needed to start using the swing arm magnifier again. I have read other reviews of this clip cracking when used. It looks solid but it's a plastic collar so I wrapped it well with strong tape to reinforce it. Since my magnifying glass goes up and down I hope the clip will hold up well. The only improvement they could make would be to make it out of metal instead of plastic.

Pros
  • Nice item

Fully rugged swing arm lamp base, swing arm retrofit by Alvin.

Impressive product: Bought 2 to try then 6 more to replace all the original clips on 8 Alvin swing arm studio lights that I use in my painting studio. The original clips used a soft rubber base that deformed over time until the bulbs bent and two eventually broke. Using a solid plastic base, this clip keeps the lamp firmly level and also includes a thumbscrew to hold the lamp leg securely in place to prevent wobbling: the perfect upgrade for Alvin swing arm lamps, must be original equipment!

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Damaged

What a lifesaver. on the topic of lighting and ceiling fans

A while ago I bought one of those pivoting table lamps with a cheaply made base. Well the way I have to keep it on my desk is quite odd and the base inevitably broke in many places. I use this light every day and rely on a base that allows me to move the lamp around without fear of breaking or losing it. I looked everywhere for a replacement and came across this one. I am incredibly happy with this part! It's strong and doesn't crumble at all! There is a part you can tighten to hold the bottom…

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Alright

Making jewelry, cross stitch, even "diamond (rhinestone) 5D paintings” (super fun, just painting by numbers, hobby, sticking rhinestones on a pre-printed canvas but very small, in detail) requires the ability to zoom in LOTS AND adequately light the area I'm working on. I've had the lamp for many years, but a few years ago the base just broke in half. I had partially supported it with cardboard, but the lack of stability of the "improvised" base was very "annoying", I couldn't position the lamp

Pros
  • New in my collection
Cons

Better than fire insurance

In the 80's the yoke of this indicator lamp broke. 80s! I've tried to move and avoid him five times, but he kind of keeps following me. I've tried to find a replacement collar at every flea market, garage sale, anywhere that sells things without other parts, hoping to calm down the stalker lamp and help it find a solution to its ultimate goal . But all I've ever found are more clipless bulbs. It has been in my current basement since 1997. And suddenly we need a lightbulb for the lizard cage…

Pros
  • Test for one year
Cons
  • Only available in white
