ProMariner 63100 ProNautic P Battery Charger - Helm Remote with LCD Display Review

Replaced remote reading charger, this is a remote control for a new device. I like it better than the old remote because you can turn off the display so it's not as bright at night. There is a small blue LED that stays on, but not too bad.

Does not allow switching from battery charge to power. This is the main reason I bought so I don't have to crawl into a hole on the boat. Although I'd love to see what happens with the tension.

My charger is in the back compartment of my sailboat and it's not easy to read. The remote mounted on the bottom of my cockpit control panel makes it easy to control my batteries. It remains to stretch something similar to a telephone cord from the compartment to the control panel.

Installation was easy but wiring was troublesome. A recommended future update will offer a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi option. Tell me what the charger on the rudder is doing. No need to go into the engine room to see what the charger is doing. I recommend this product for peace of mind.

A very nice addition to the ProMariner charger installation. A small volume contains several pages of useful information. This is a plug and play assembled display that comes with lots of cables. I installed it about 8 feet from the charger and still had some extra length to wrap and secure (I didn't measure it before installing so can't give an exact length).

Nice display if you just want a display. However, at least on my current ProNautic 1240P charger model, this remote control CANNOT be used to program the charger or change its settings. Oh, it has a "Settings" button, but you can't use it to change anything on the charger - just some of the display functions on the remote itself. I bought this unit to pair with the Sterling ProCharge Ultra ST-PCU-1260, identical to the ProMariner ProNautic 1260P. I use this on a boat and need to run the generator regularly when not at the dock to charge my batteries. I would have to keep looking into the engine room to see the charge gauge to see if I had enough charged or if the alternator should run longer.
