I bought this unit to pair with the Sterling ProCharge Ultra ST-PCU-1260, identical to the ProMariner ProNautic 1260P. I use this on a boat and need to run the generator regularly when not at the dock to charge my batteries. I would have to keep looking into the engine room to see the charge gauge to see if I had enough charged or if the alternator should run longer. I installed this remote display on the boat switch and switch panel. Now I just have to look at it to know exactly what the charger is doing. The cable used looks like a standard phone jack and carries both power and signals. I don't remember if it was four or six pins, but it seemed to me that buying an extra wire for a longer connection, or cutting that wire and crimping the new end with an appropriate tool, was out of the question. . I had more than enough to get to the panel through the engine room and I just packed up the excess and taped it somewhere convenient. I drilled a 1/2" hole in the empty space of my board to feed the wire through and then used 3M double sided tape (thin gray material) to attach it. There were no mounting screws in the kit but they are. There are four holes if you want to drill more. You can also cut a rectangle for flush mounting if you'd like. The flush-mounted portion of the bezel slides off, leaving you with a flange to cover the hole. There aren't many instructions and only one. In fact, the only options I can find are to turn off the backlight, change the language, and either scroll through all the display options or just exit one. This display allows you to get additional information about the charger. Different temperatures are visible, e.g. B. battery, charger and transformer. There's also a display that shows the time it takes to fully charge. I like the scrolling display, but wish some screens could turn this off, for example I don't need to see the office phone number and part number of the charger it's been plugged into more than once since launch. First I want to see the current and voltage the charger is outputting. I will most likely not use the scroll function, just leave it on the charger home screen. When AC power is disconnected from charging, the remote display will also turn off. All in all, a nice little device to monitor what's going on downstairs at a glance. I am happy with the purchase.
